2008 Private Cellar Chardonnay
The 2008 Private Cellar PMVG-08 (pre-mother vine grafting 2008) Chardonnay was made from the grapes grown on our Dorrien Bank vineyard from the last vintage before we grafted these over to our Monopole Vine Shiraz. Picked with acidity in mind, the wine finished fermentation in French barriques and partial malolactic fermentation occurred. After time in barrel, it was bottled and left to mature in cool cellars until this release. Private Cellar is so named because as with all Private Cellar releases, Dean is happy to have the lot in my own cellar. However, as always, the wine is so good it’s worth sharing.

Reviews
"From the Dorrien Bank Vineyard in the Barossa Valley. Shows expected golden yellow colour for its age; a curio, though not without merit. From an unlikely terroir in a brutally hot vintage, but must have been picked well before the heat struck. 90 Points." - James Halliday, Halliday Wine Companion
