"This has been a magnificent journey" Dean Hewitson

Our Estate and Beyond

All of the Hewitson’s red wines are made from fruit grown in the Barossa Valley. Whites are sourced from the cool climates of the Eden Valley or Adelaide Hills.

BAROSSA VALLEY

Located in the Barossa Valley, lays Hewitson’s ‘selection massale’ from the 1853 plantings of Old Garden Mourvèdre. Established by Dean in 1998, the Baby Bush vineyard was created with the Estate vines now over 20 years old.

As well as Hewitson’s pride and joy; the Mourvèdre plantings, wines are made from a number of other plots in the Barossa, including the Falkenberg Shiraz, Dorrien Bank Shiraz and Duck Ponds Road Sangiovese vineyards.

EDEN VALLEY

Hewitson’s Gun Metal Riesling is grown in the highly sort after, cool climate region of the Eden Valley. Selected due to it’s Eastern facing slope, providing shade from the warm afternoon sun, this vineyard has the perfect Riesling growing location.
