"Potent black fruits, herbs and spices all intermingled on the bouquet, following through on the medium- to full-bodied, tightly focused palate. Screwcap."
04 Ned & Henry's "drunk young at lunch or dinner"

"Produced from low cropping vineyards grown in red soil over limestone and matured in French oak, this wine was created by Dean Hewitson so that it could be drunk young at lunch or dinner." Denis Hartnett

"The evolved 2004 Shiraz Ned & Henry's exhibits aromas of bacon fat, pepper, blackberries, and cassis, medium to full body, and wonderful purity as well as richness. The bacon fat character found in the 2004 has not yet emerged from the 2005. This wine has the potential to keep for 7-8 years."
04 Ned & Henry's "a velvety, seamless statement of Barossa shiraz"

"The Hewitson red wines are made to express old Barossa vineyards without too much messing around with oak and winemaking tricks. The results speak for themselves. CURRENT RELEASE 2004 A mellow Barossa red that stays well away from the bigger-is-better malaise that grips many these days. The nose evokes spices like nutmeg and cloves, giving a savoury touch to focused cherry and black fruits, and a hint of dark chocolate. In the mouth it's a velvety, seamless statement of Barossa shiraz, medium- to full-bodied with great depth and presence. Beautifully integrated fine-grained tannins complete the picture. Try it with venison pie." Ralph Kyte Powell & Huon Hooke
