Gun Metal Riesling 2009
09 Gun Metal Riesling "Long, luscious presence of fruit"
Jeremy Oliver, The Australian Wine Annual on Dec-2010
Rating: 90 points
A skinsy, textured riesling with richness and depth. Underpinned by suggestion of bathpowder, its aromas of lime juice of citrus rind precede a broad, generous and chalky palate whose long, luscious presence of fruit culminates in a dry, austere and mineral finish.
2009 Gun Metal Riesling "Really precise and lively!"
Nick Stock, The Good Wine Guide 2011 on Nov-2010

So called in reference to the Eden Valley's flinty terroir, this has some nicely struck fine and flinty aromas, lemons and nashi pears - pretty fresh. The palate's righ on point, with sizzling lemon and lime citrus flavours. Really precise and lively!
09 Gun Metal Riesling "invigorating and refreshing"

I normally like to taste Riesling over a couple of days although this was only given a quick once over, seeing as I had to dash off on holidays. A quick look was all it took, convinced I was quickly, as I have been with most 2009 SA Rieslings.
It's a pretty wine with a bath products fragrance, but also tight, dry and precise - its feet firmly grounded on a floor made of wet slate and stone. Has lime and length, plus a little mango richness. The Gin and Tonic aftertaste is invigorating and refreshing. Very good.
