2002 Miss Harry

Description

The 2002 vintage is the third vintage of Miss Harry. Sourced from predominantly 80+ year-old, dry-grown bush vines, Miss Harry has immediate providence.

The 2002 vintage in the Barossa Valley brought outstanding concentration to the traditional varieties of Grenache, Shiraz and Mourvèdre. These varieties were picked at optimum maturity, fermented separately on their skins before finishing fermentation and malo-lactic fermentation in old French barriques then matured in these same barrels for about 10 months.

The 2002 Miss Harry continues the success of this beautifully structured, fruit-concentrated red wine that delivers wholeheartedly in a very approachable style.

Tasting Notes

The colour of 2002 Miss Harry is bright red with a purple hue. The aromas are high tones of ripe strawberry and red forest berries with spicy, smoky hints. The palate is wonderfully full, showing ripe strawberries and plums, and has a concentrated core of fruit essence that is soft and full.

Flavours of fruit, spice and earth appear on the palate, creating a wine of great complexity and interest. The finish is long and soft. Barrel maturation in old, French barrels has increased the wine's complexity and refined its texture.
